The Brazen Minotaurs are a loyalist Space Marine Chapter from the world of Tauron. They’re a Codex Chapter, meaning they stick close to the organisational blueprint laid down in the Codex Astartes. They matter because they’ve shown up in several Black Library stories and a major campaign, giving fans a concrete example of a lesser-known but active Chapter.
What makes them distinct
They follow the Codex Astartes, so their structure and tactics are standard for a Space Marine Chapter. Their homeworld is Tauron, and their battle cry is simply “For Tauron!”
Their armour is polished brass with white pauldrons. Company colour goes on the left knee pad, which is a neat detail for painters.

Known battles and campaigns
They fought in the War for the Sargassion Reach alongside the Raven Guard against the Empyrion’s Blight Chaos Warband. The war ended, but the outcome isn’t recorded.
That’s the main campaign they’re tied to in the sources. It shows them working with another famous Chapter against a Chaos threat.

Fleet and notable members
Their fleet includes the battle barge Pride of Tauron. That’s the only named ship we have.
A few individuals stand out. Captain Daed, Chief Librarian Theseon, and Techmarine Zaeus, who served with the Deathwatch.

Where you’ll find them in the lore
They appear in several Black Library stories, including the audio drama Labyrinth of Sorrows, the novella The Unkindness of Ravens, and short stories like By Artifice, Alone, Old Scars, and Machine Spirit. They’re also mentioned in Codex: Space Marines (6th Edition) and the painting guide How to Paint Space Marines.
So while they aren’t a first founding Chapter, they’ve got enough appearances to feel real. If you like the idea of a brass-armoured, Codex-following Chapter with a grudge against Chaos, they’re worth a look.
