The Exodite Worlds

The Exodite Worlds are the planets settled by the Exodites, an Aeldari faction that rejected the decadence of their race before the Fall. These worlds are deliberately harsh, forcing a life of survival that keeps them disciplined and safe from She Who Thirsts.

Overview

The Exodite Worlds are the home planets of the Exodites, Aeldari who saw the coming collapse of their civilisation and left. They fled through the Webway and settled on Maiden Worlds, but not the pleasant ones. They picked primeval, deadly planets where just staying alive took most of their time and focus.

That harsh life gave them a discipline similar to the Path system the Asuryani later adopted. They didn’t degenerate, they chose a different way. Most Imperial citizens think they’re savages, but they can still use any tech that works on a Craftworld. They just don’t want to.

How do Exodites live?

Exodites live nomadic lives, following herds of megadons (dragons, to the Aeldari) across huge grassy plains. These beasts were probably spread by early settlers, like humans did with Grox.

They’ve given up much of their old technology, but they’re not primitive. They have World Spirits, psychic repositories that hold the souls of their dead, and they defend them fiercely. Their lifestyle is a choice, not a fall.

Why do the Exodite Worlds matter?

Craftworld Biel-Tan sees the Exodites as the first step in rebuilding the Aeldari empire. Exodite worlds would be their staging grounds, so Biel-Tan guards them jealously, slaughtering anyone who tries to take them.

The Exodites also fight to protect their homes from threats like Orks, Tyranids, and Chaos. Their World Spirits are vital, and losing one is a tragedy. In one case, after Hive Fleet Naga destroyed Halathel’s World Spirit, Prince Yriel ordered his fleet to scour all life from the planet in revenge.

Exodites in the 41st Millennium

For decades, Exodites existed only in lore, but they’ve finally made it to the tabletop. Kill Team: Exodite brings Dragon Masters, elite warriors riding drakesteeds, into the game. They operate as a ritual triad: Clanblade, Stonesinger, and Leystalker.

The kit can also build lance-armed Exodite Dragon Knights with rules for Warhammer 40,000. It’s a big moment for fans who’ve waited a long time to see these elusive Aeldari in miniature.
