Slaanesh didn’t make it to lead armies. It was created specifically to fight and beat rival greater daemons, Khorne’s Bloodthirsters above all. Shalaxi has taken down some of the deadliest beings in the galaxy, and rumours say it has even bested Skarbrand.
The hunt that never ends
Shalaxi tracks its prey across any environment, dimension, or stretch of space. It doesn’t matter where a target hides. Eventually it runs them down, and the stronger the prey, the worse the torment it inflicts.
Its hit list isn’t just daemons. It has hunted regents, warlords, Tyranid monstrosities, Knights, and even C’tan Shards. Myths also describe it raiding Nurgle’s garden to drag the Prince of Corpseblooms back to Slaanesh’s palace.
The Ynnari rivalry
Roughly six hundred years before the Great Rift opened, Grey Knights banished Shalaxi to the Warp. Slaanesh punished it by locking it in the Palace of Punishments, then eventually decided it had atoned and gave it a new job: stop Ynnead from rising.
Shalaxi stole the fifth Crone Sword from Belial IV and hid it in Slaanesh’s palace, out of the Ynnari’s reach. It gathered allies like Syll’Esske and a band of Slaaneshi Heralds, then used its synesthetic sense to follow Yvraine’s soul-trail through the Webway.
It cornered Yvraine twice. The second time, on Iathglas, it held off Yvraine, the Yncarne, the Visarch, Jain Zar, Lelith Hesperax, and a Solitaire all at once. When it finally seemed beaten, it revealed the whole fight had been an illusion solid enough to be fun. It promised to kill Yvraine one day and vanished.

Shalaxi fights with a living whip and the daemon spear Soulpiercer, wears a shining aegis, and is wrapped in the Cloak of Constriction.
In 10th edition it’s a Chaos Daemons character you can slot into a Slaanesh or mixed daemon list. Its whole deal is picking duels and deleting enemy characters and monsters.
