The Aggressors

The Aggressors are a Primaris Space Marine heavy fire support squad. They wade into the middle of a fight, soak up punishment in Gravis armour, and then unload a wall of large-calibre shells or burning promethium at close range.

What the aggressors are

An Aggressor Squad is a Primaris unit classed as Fire Support. Each Marine wears Gravis Pattern power armour, which looks bulky but still lets them move across broken ground better than the heavier Centurions they’re often compared to.

They first appeared during the Ultima Founding, the wave of Primaris reinforcements Roboute Guilliman pushed out after reworking the Codex Astartes. Since then they’ve earned a reputation as a blunt, reliable line-breaker.

How they fight

Aggressors aren’t long-range shooters. Their weapons reach isn’t impressive, so they’re usually held back as reserves or thrown forward to plug gaps in a gun line. Once they’re close enough to open up, the volume of fire is the point.

A full squad firing together puts out a sweeping fusillade of big bolter shells that can break an enemy charge outright. Some carry shoulder-mounted fragstorm grenade launchers for extra spread.

  • Boltstorm gauntlets: twin-linked, rapid-fire bolter shells.
  • Flame gauntlets: twin flamers that hose burning promethium.
  • Fragstorm grenade launchers: shoulder-mounted, optional.

Armour and role

Gravis armour is the middle ground between standard Primaris plate and the walking tanks that are Centurions. That balance is why Aggressors can push through rough terrain and still take a hit, which suits their job as breach-pluggers and advance-spearheads.

They’re a specialist tool, not a default Troops choice. You bring them when you need something tough enough to hold a point and nasty enough to punish anyone who comes close.

Who fields them

Any Chapter with access to Primaris reinforcements can field Aggressors, but a few lean on them hard. The Iron Hands, Salamanders, and Black Templars are the ones most often named.

That fits their character: the Iron Hands like durable firepower, the Salamanders like flame, and the Black Templars like anything that gets close enough to break a line.
