The Consecrators are a secretive successor chapter of the Dark Angels, created to recover lost relics and hunt the Fallen. They matter because they embody the Unforgiven’s obsession with the past, and their relic-based tactics are unlike anything else in the Space Marines.
Who they are
The Consecrators are a successor chapter of the Dark Angels, part of the Unforgiven. They were founded in secret by Supreme Grand Master Valafar to seek out and preserve the history of the Unforgiven.
They first appear in Administratum records during the Second Kuppukin Schism, where the entire chapter wiped out a rebel force in six hours and then vanished. They’ve kept that pattern ever since: arrive without warning, finish the job, and disappear.
- Founding: Dark Angels successor, unknown founding
- Chapter Master: Nakir
- Homeworld: fleet-based, fortress-monastery called Reliquaria
- Strength: roughly 500 battle-brothers
- Specialty: recovering relics
Relics and the hunt for the Fallen
The Consecrators’ main job is recovering ancient relics, especially those of the Dark Angels Legion. They’ve sent missions into the ruins of Caliban and inherited some of the Legion’s most revered wargear.
They use these relics as bait. By planting a relic in a monitored location, they wait for a Fallen Angel to try and claim it. Whether out of vanity, spite, or longing, the Fallen who take the bait are hunted down and killed.
Appearance and wargear
The Consecrators look like Dark Angels from before the Horus Heresy. They wear black power armour with a vertical red stripe on the helmet and red robes.
Before they received Primaris reinforcements, they wore ancient armour patterns no newer than Mark VI Corvus. Much of their equipment is relic wargear recovered from old Legiones Astartes depots and armouries.

Notable engagements
The Consecrators appear at key moments in Dark Angels history. They fought alongside the Dark Angels at the Arrulas Intervention, and their 4th company was involved in the Achilus Crusade, focusing on the Slinnar Drift.
During the Achilus Crusade, their strike cruiser Heritor of Ages was ambushed by an Ork Kill Kroozer called Growler. The ship was abandoned, and what happened to the crew on Shedu is unknown. They also took part in the War of Beasts and the Massacre at Darkmor.
