The Shining Spears are one of the rarest Aeldari Aspect Warrior shrines, jetbike cavalry who embody the spear of Kaela Mensha Khaine. They hit hard, hit once, and vanish before the enemy can answer.
What the Shining Spears are
They’re Aspect Warriors of the Aeldari, the alien race once called Eldar. Each Aspect shrine honours a different facet of Khaine, their god of war, and the Shining Spears take the spear: the weapon that struck like lightning and killed with a single blow.
That shapes how they fight. They don’t grind enemies down in long melees. They pick a target, charge in at terrifying speed, deliver one killing strike, and pull back out before retaliation lands.
They’re also rare. Only a handful of craftworlds keep a Shining Spears shrine, and even the big ones like Ulthwé field just a few. Squads are tiny, usually three to five warriors, sometimes with an Exarch leading them.
How they fight
Every Shining Spear rides an Eldar jetbike, and their mastery of it is close to total. Veterans can pull off complex high-speed manoeuvres with a single gesture, threading through rough terrain and around obstacles without slowing.
That mobility is the point. A small unit can swing a battle by appearing where the enemy is weakest, smashing through, and wheeling around for another pass. It’s hit-and-run warfare in its purest form, similar in spirit to the Exodite Dragon Knights.
Their ritual weapon is the laser lance, an elegant polearm that fires short-ranged energy blasts strong enough to pierce heavy armour. Their jetbikes also carry twin-linked shuriken catapults. Their armour is traditionally painted white, often with blue and silver.
Exarchs and the Phoenix Lord
An Exarch is an Aeldari who got lost on the Path of the Warrior and became one with their Aspect permanently. Shining Spear Exarchs are the shrine’s high priests of Khaine, and their riding skill outstrips even a veteran’s. They know exactly when to break off a fight and when to charge again.
Exarchs wear older, more elaborate armour than their squadmates, studded with spirit stones holding the souls of past Exarchs. Those souls offer guidance and a reserve of psychic power.
Their gear is a step up too. Instead of a standard laser lance they can carry a Star Lance or Paragon Sabre, and their Khaine’s Lance jetbike can swap its catapults for a heavier shuriken cannon. Some are protected by a shimmershield.
The shrine’s Phoenix Lord is Drastanta, called the Tempest of Starlight. He’s been missing for a long time, ever since the battle against the Keeper of Secrets N’Kari, where Asurmen was slain by his own mistake.
