Perturabo

Perturabo is the Primarch of the Iron Warriors, the IV Legion. He’s the siege specialist of the Emperor’s sons, a cold, resentful genius who sided with Horus during the Horus Heresy and later became a Daemon Primarch of Chaos Undivided.

Who Perturabo is

Perturabo is one of the twenty Primarchs, engineered by the Emperor and scattered across the galaxy as infants. He landed on Olympia, where he was raised by the tyrant Dammekos of Lochos. He never fit in there, and he knew it.

He’s called the Lord of Iron and the Hammer of Olympia. His Legion, the Iron Warriors, shares his love of technology, cold logic, and grinding siege warfare. He’s also famously bitter, and that bitterness is the engine of his whole story.

From Olympia to the Horus Heresy

On Olympia, Perturabo showed terrifying talent for architecture, art, debate, and war. He was paraded around by Dammekos to secure alliances, and he resented it. The only person he seemed to tolerate was his foster sister Calliphone.

During the Great Crusade, he and his Iron Warriors were handed the ugliest, most thankless campaigns: sieges, attrition, garrison duty. Perturabo felt used and unappreciated while other Primarchs got the glory. When Horus turned against the Emperor, Perturabo joined him. He became Horus’s Siegemaster.

He fought at the Siege of Terra, but he broke with Horus before the end. After the Heresy, he fled into the Eye of Terror with his Legion.

Daemon Primarch and the Infinite Citadel

Perturabo ascended to Daemonhood, becoming a Daemon Prince of Chaos Undivided. He rules from Medrengard, a daemon world in the Eye of Terror, where his fortress-tower is a byword for grim, industrial horror.

His current plan, sometimes called the Infinite Citadel, is a siege on a galactic scale. The Iron Warriors are pushing the Cadian Gate and building an expanding ring of brutalist fortifications toward Terra, world by world. The goal is to thin the veil between realspace and the Warp so Perturabo can walk on Imperial soil at will.

It’s a long game, and that’s the point. Perturabo doesn’t do quick wars. He does wars that never end.

What makes him different

  • He’s the siege guy. Other Primarchs win battles; Perturabo wins campaigns by grinding you down.
  • His fall wasn’t a sudden betrayal. It was decades of feeling sidelined, used, and denied credit.
  • He’s a Daemon Primarch now, but his deadliest weapon is still his mind, not raw power.
  • He doesn’t serve one Chaos God. He’s Undivided, which makes him unpredictable and hard to pin down.
