The Knights of Blood are a Chaos Space Marine warband dedicated to Khorne, the Blood God. They’re infamous for brutal massacres that have left entire worlds depopulated, making them a terrifying example of Chaos corruption in the 41st Millennium.
Who they are
The Knights of Blood are a Khornate warband, meaning they worship Khorne and fight in his name. Their armour is dark red and black, and they specialise in frenzied close-quarters slaughter.
They’re not to be confused with the renegade Space Marine Chapter of the same name. This article covers the Chaos warband.
Notable massacres
The warband has left a trail of dead worlds behind them. They’ve committed large-scale massacres on Cadon, Obsus Prima, and Helka II.
In 999.M41, they attacked Ornsworld and wiped out over ninety percent of its population. That single atrocity shows just how devastating they can be when they set their sights on a planet.
Obsus Prima uprising
The Knights of Blood played a key role in the Obsus Prima Uprising, a conflict detailed in the Warhammer 40,000: Escalation supplement. Their involvement there is one of their better-documented actions.
Khorne or not?
Their dedication to Khorne isn’t explicitly stated in every source, but it’s strongly implied. Their symbol is a Juggernaut, the daemonic steed of Khorne, and their tactics fit the Blood God’s followers perfectly.
So while you might see them listed as ‘possibly Khorne’ in some references, the evidence points firmly in that direction.
