The Custodes’ Allarus Terminators

The Custodes Allarus Terminators are the Adeptus Custodes’ designated assassin-squad: hand-picked warriors in teleporting Terminator armour whose job is to drop behind enemy lines and kill the commanders, warlords and lynchpins holding an army together.

What they are

Allarus Custodians are members of the Adeptus Custodes, the Emperor’s own bodyguard, chosen by the Captain-General from the most aggressive fighters in the order. Their whole purpose is decapitation strikes: identify the key figures in an enemy force, get to them, and remove them.

They wear Allarus Pattern Terminator Armour, a rare and incredibly tough suit fitted with a teleporter. That’s the trick that makes them work. They don’t have to grind their way across the battlefield, they blink into position next to whatever needs to die.

How they fight

The standard loadout is a Castellan Axe for close work and a wrist-mounted Balistus Grenade Launcher for softening things up on the way in. It’s a kit built entirely around getting close and finishing the job fast.

What separates them from a lot of melee monsters in the setting is discipline. They’re furious, but it’s controlled fury. Every blow lands with full force and surgical aim, and they don’t lose the plot once the killing starts.

  • Teleport into the enemy’s rear lines rather than fight through the front
  • Often split into lone operatives after the first strike
  • Hunt commanders, champions and other key targets
  • Sow confusion and collapse enemy formations before the main Custodes force arrives

Why they matter

The Custodes are already the most elite force in the Imperium, and Allarus Custodians are the sharp end of that. A small squad can shred units many times its size, which is why they show up when a battle needs to be ended quickly rather than won slowly.

Their real value is disruption. Once they scatter through an enemy’s backfield, the opposing army loses coordination, and that’s when the rest of the Custodes commit and finish things.

Where they sit in the Custodes roster

They’re one of the faction’s elite infantry options, alongside the Aquilon Terminators, Custodian Wardens and the Hetaeron Guard. The Aquilon are the other Terminator choice, and they’re cut from similar cloth: immensely durable veterans who can delete much bigger units.

If you’re building a Custodes force, Allarus are the ones you reach for when you want targeted, teleporting aggression rather than a wall of blades.
