The Seekers of Slaanesh

The Seekers of Slaanesh are Daemonettes who ride Steeds of Slaanesh into battle. They’re fast, vicious, and a core part of any Slaanesh daemon army, which makes them worth knowing if you play Chaos or just like the lore.

What the seekers of slaanesh actually are

A Seeker is a Daemonette mounted on a Steed of Slaanesh. The Daemonette doesn’t summon the steed, she catches it herself, and that’s where things get interesting.

Steeds roam Slaanesh’s sacred pastures, drinking from rivers of mother’s milk and scented oils. A Daemonette (or a strong mortal) sneaks in, exploits the creature’s curiosity about new sensations, and snares it with a chain of gold or silver. Once caught, the steed gets covered in sigils and runes and held by tethers made of loyalty and worship.

  • A Seeker is a Daemonette riding a Steed of Slaanesh.
  • The mount is captured, not gifted, and must be held by devotion.
  • Let the bond slip and the steed bolts back to the pastures.

Heartseekers and known seekers

The one in charge of a Seeker pack is called a Heartseeker. Silphin is one named Heartseeker, leading her Seekers as part of the Brazen Host. Another known Seeker is Phaephex.

That’s about all the named examples the lore gives us. Most Seekers stay anonymous, which fits an army built on speed and excess rather than famous champions.

Where they fit in Slaanesh’s forces

Seekers sit alongside Daemonettes, Fiends, and Heralds of Slaanesh in the daemonic roster. They’re the fast attack option, hitting hard and moving quicker than most of what Slaanesh can field.

They also connect to bigger things. Seeker Chariots and Exalted Seeker Chariots scale the same idea up, and the Steed itself appears as a separate entry in the daemon lists. If you know one, you basically know the family.

FAQ

Are Seekers of Slaanesh daemons or mortals?

They’re Daemonettes, so daemons. The lore does note that a strong mortal can sometimes catch a Steed too, but the standard Seeker is a Daemonette.

What’s a Heartseeker?

It’s the leader of a Seeker pack. Silphin is one example, leading her Seekers in the Brazen Host.

Why do Seekers have to hold onto their mounts?

Because a Steed left untouched escapes back to Slaanesh’s pastures. The Daemonette keeps it bound with tethers of loyalty and worship, more than physical restraints.
