The Nihilakh Dynasty is one of the major Necron dynasties, known for its immense wealth and its long policy of isolation. They’re traditionalists who guard their treasure worlds fiercely, but recent events have pushed them onto the galactic stage.
Overview
The Nihilakh Dynasty hails from the crownworld of Gheden. They’re keenly traditionalist, which is why the Triarch Praetorians hold an honoured place among them. In ancient times, they built vast treasure worlds filled with wealth plundered from a thousand lost civilizations. It’s said their treasures eclipse those of all other dynasties combined.
Arrogant and proud, the Nihilakh flaunt their wealth and military strength, but they’re also protective of their treasures to the point of isolationism. They rarely venture outside their own domains. That isolationism cuts both ways: it’s good for alien races, but it also means the Nihilakh are undepleted from wars of expansion and viciously destroy any interloper. If attacked, they don’t rest until the aggressor is utterly annihilated. They can even predict the future thanks to the preserved head of an ancient alien prophet, letting them strike when a foe is least prepared.
Recent history
Recently, the Nihilakh ended their isolation and began expanding from their borders. They’ve sided with Szarekh, the last Silent King, hoping to oversee Necron domination of the galaxy. Since the Great Rift formed, they’ve hunted Chaos forces and cordoned off a large sector of space, forcing billions within to erect geometrically arranged pylon monuments. So far, Phaeron Shemvokh has only deployed forces to the Nephilim Sector.
The Nihilakh defended the Pariah Nexus during the Psychic Awakening. Later, Indomitus Crusade Battle Group Kallides invaded, and Battle Sister Ephrael Stern’s forces defeated the Nihilakh garrison on Cherist. They remained loyal to the Silent King during Imotekh’s revolt in the Pariah Nexus.
