The Gorkanaut

The Gorkanaut is a heavy Ork walker built to honour Gork, the god of brutal cunning. It exists for one job: smashing a hole in the enemy line so the boyz can pour through.

What the gorkanaut is

It’s a towering effigy of Gork, all brute force and no subtlety. Ork Meks build it to embody everything a greenskin admires: big, tough, loud and destructive.

On the tabletop and in the lore it’s a linebreaker first. Gorkanauts spearhead Ork infantry assaults, stomping into the thickest fighting while the mob follows behind.

Who pilots it

A Nob sits in the cockpit, and he’s usually an outcast from his own tribe. Common crimes include using fellow Orks for target practice, which tends to end a career in the warband.

Revenge comes with the job. Once he’s sealed inside, a pilot will happily turn his machine on the settlement that threw him out and trample it flat.

Weapons and firepower

The main event is the Deffstorm Mega-Shoota, backed up by the enormous Klaw of Gork for close-quarters crushing.

That’s not all. It also carries two twin-linked Big Shootas, two Rokkit Launchas, and a Skorcha for burning out anything that survives the first volley.

  • Deffstorm Mega-Shoota (primary gun)
  • Klaw of Gork (primary melee)
  • Two twin-linked Big Shootas
  • Two Rokkit Launchas
  • Skorcha

Gorkanaut vs Morkanaut

The two walkers are siblings with different temperaments. The Gorkanaut leans into raw killing power, while the Morkanaut trades some of that for tricks and support wargear.

If you want a blunt instrument that punches a hole, you take the Gorkanaut. If you want a mobile weapons platform with a few surprises, you take the Morkanaut.

Notable pilots

Not many Gorkanaut pilots get named in the lore, which fits a machine that tends to be scrap by the end of a campaign.

One documented case is Kazmek da Kruncha, who fought alongside Ghazghkull against the Tyranids. A pilot called Grotnaut also appears in miniature showcase material, though that kind of hobbyist-sourced content can clash with established background.
