The Nihilakh Dynasty’s Realm

The Nihilakh Dynasty’s realm is a Necron domain built on plundered wealth and a fierce desire to be left alone. Ruled from the crownworld Gheden, it’s one of the most traditional and heavily armed dynasties, and lately it’s been stirring from its isolation.

What is the Nihilakh Dynasty’s realm?

It’s the territory controlled by the Nihilakh, a Necron dynasty that historically kept to itself. Their crownworld is Gheden, and their phaeron is Shemvokh (though some sources name Krispekh, so treat that as uncertain).

They’re traditionalists, which is why Triarch Praetorians hold a place of honour among them. During the ancient past, they built treasure worlds packed with riches taken from a thousand lost civilizations. Those hoards are said to outshine every other dynasty’s combined.

Why the Nihilakh matter

They’re arrogant, proud, and happy to show off their wealth and military strength, but they guard their treasures so jealously that they became isolationists. That’s good news for alien races, mostly, because the Nihilakh don’t go looking for wars of expansion.

But if you attack them, they won’t stop until you’re gone. They don’t rest until the aggressor is utterly destroyed. They can also predict the future thanks to a preserved alien prophet’s head, which lets them strike when a foe is least ready.

  • Crownworld: Gheden
  • Phaeron: Shemvokh (conflicting sources say Krispekh)
  • Colours: light teal
  • Known for: vast treasure worlds, isolationism, and future-sight

Worlds of the realm

Gheden is the crownworld and the heart of the dynasty. Solemnace is another key world, famous as the domain of Trazyn the Infinite, an overlord and collector. Cardrim was taken by the Imperium after the Battle of Cardrim.

The Nihilakh also hold worlds in the Nephilim Sector, which is where they’ve been most active recently.

Recent expansion and the Great Rift

Since the Great Rift opened, the Nihilakh have ended their isolation and started expanding from their borders. They’ve sided with Szarekh, the Silent King, and hope to help oversee Necron domination of the galaxy.

They’ve also begun hunting Chaos forces and cordoned off a large sector of space, forcing billions within to build geometrically arranged pylon monuments. So far, Phaeron Shemvokh has only deployed forces to the Nephilim Sector.

They defended the Pariah Nexus during the Psychic Awakening, and later the Indomitus Crusade’s Battle Group Kallides invaded. Battle Sister Ephrael Stern’s forces defeated the Nihilakh garrison on Cherist. They stayed loyal to the Silent King during Imotekh’s revolt in the Pariah Nexus.
