The Brazen Beasts are a Khornate Chaos Space Marine warband that worships a Lord of Skulls and sends hordes of daemon engines ahead of its berserkers. They started as a loyalist garrison driven mad on Ghahalla and have been butchering their way across the galaxy ever since.
What the Brazen Beasts are
They’re a warband of Khorne Daemonkin, not a Traitor Legion. Their armour is the colour of bloodied brass, with red helms and shoulder guards. They don’t just fight for the Blood God, they build their whole way of war around him.
Their battlefield signature is daemon engines. Forgefiends, Maulerfiends and Defilers lead the charge while the mortal and post-human killers follow behind. The Brazen Beasts keep this stable of engines inside their Space Hulk, the Oblivion Shadow, where enslaved Warpsmiths maintain them.

Origins on Ghahalla
The warband began in M37, when a garrison of the Golden Blades defended the Fortress of Intolerance on the Imperial world of Ghahalla against a daemonic attack. Something snapped. The Space Marines started carving horrific symbols into their war machines and used blood rituals to bind their attackers inside those same vehicles.
That was the first step. The daemon engines they created became the core of a new identity, and the garrison that survived became the Brazen Beasts.
The Gorethunder Cohort and the Caged God
The Brazen Beasts worship a daemonic host called the Gorethunder Cohort, which grinds enemies down with massed Skull Cannons and rampaging Soul Grinders. The warband’s engine-heavy tactics are an imitation of that host, a way of bringing the Gorethunder’s methods into realspace.
At the centre of their devotion sits a Lord of Skulls they call the Caged God. It works as a towering war-idol, and its frenzied visions are what steer the warband through the warp toward fresh victims.
Notable campaigns and figures
The Brazen Beasts show up in some of the bigger Chaos conflicts of recent lore: the Blood Crusade, the Fall of Ebon Vale, the War of Beasts on Vigilus, and the Charadon Campaign. They also wiped out the Ghoresh at some point, which tells you how they treat rivals.
A few names stand out. Barontor of the Bloodied Hilt is a summoner tied to the Great Red Thunder. Ghorba Daemonbind is a Warpsmith, one of the specialists who keeps the engines running.
