Fuegan

Fuegan, called the Burning Lance, is an Aeldari Phoenix Lord and the founder of the Fire Dragons Aspect. He’s one of the oldest and most feared warriors in the 40k setting, and prophecy says he’ll play a key part in the Rhana Dandra, the final battle at the end of everything.

Who is Fuegan?

Fuegan is an Asuryani Phoenix Lord, born before the Fall of the Eldar. He founded the Fire Dragons when the Asurya spread across the galaxy to teach the Path of the Warrior, hoping the Eldar could find harmony through selective destruction rather than oblivion.

He’s respected as a hero on many craftworlds and often shown holding the cosmic serpents of wisdom and entropy. More than most Aspect Warriors, he embodies total devotion to his deadly craft, wiping out the Eldar’s enemies in a relentless chain across the galaxy.

Weapons and battles

Fuegan carries a Fire Axe and a one-of-a-kind firepike called Searsong. He refused to flee when Arhra destroyed the Shrine of Asur, and was thought dead for centuries before reappearing to fight beside Eldrad Ulthran at the Haranshemash, the World of Blood and Tears.

There he scoured a score of Daemon lords from the planet with his firepike, claimed a dozen more with his axe, then vanished into the Webway. He’s traveled its tunnels ever since, emerging only for a noble cause. He also fought at the Battle for Pandora Prime alongside Asurmen, Baharroth, Jain Zar, and Karandras.

Fuegan and the Rhana Dandra

Eldar belief holds that Fuegan’s unbroken chain of destruction is meant to bind the Dragon at the end of days, mastering destruction itself. Prophecy says he’ll call together the Phoenix Lords for the Rhana Dandra, the final conflict, and that he’ll be the last to die.

At that end, his soul and those of his kin are said to merge and birth Ynnead, the Aeldari god of the dead. When that day comes is anyone’s guess. The Aeldari live a long time, so what feels imminent to them could be generations away for a human.

Fuegan and the Ynnari

Fuegan later appeared under Jain Zar’s command, pledged to Ynnead. He fought to defend the Ynnari against the Thousand Sons and Tzeentch’s daemons in the Webway, then vanished during the struggle.

Since then he’s hunted the Webway’s ancient tunnels, tracking down enemies of the Eldar. A new miniature for him arrived in 2025, his first since the 2nd edition model back in 1994.
