A world of chains and arenas
Nuceria was a brutal place, ruled by slavemasters from the city of Desh’ea. They forced their subjects to fight in gladiatorial arenas for entertainment. The aggression-enhancing technology known as the Butcher’s Nails was central to this cruelty.
Angron was captured as a young man and forced into the arenas. He eventually led a slave revolt, but at its height he was teleported away by the Emperor. His comrades were massacred, and Angron never forgave him.
Return and purge
During the Horus Heresy, Angron returned to Nuceria with Lorgar. He found that the slavemasters had spread a lie: that he had fled the revolt. Enraged, Angron ordered the planet purged, and the World Eaters and Word Bearers carried it out.
A large Ultramarines fleet led by Roboute Guilliman arrived, seeking revenge for Calth. Guilliman fought Angron and Lorgar in the city of Meahor. During the duel, Lorgar triggered a ritual that turned Angron into a Daemon Prince, forcing the Ultramarines to retreat.
Aftermath and destruction
After the massacre, Nuceria became a Daemon World. Six of Khorne’s greatest servants battled on its sands for his favour, with Ar’gakhol emerging victorious.
During the Siege of Terra, Lion El’Jonson and the Dark Angels destroyed Nuceria from orbit. Angron felt its destruction all the way from Terra.
