The Crone Worlds are the ruined homeworlds of the ancient Eldar Empire, the ones that got swallowed by the Eye of Terror when the Fall tore the galaxy open. They’re daemon-haunted nightmares now, but they still matter because they’re the only place the Asuryani can get new spirit stones.
What happened to them
Before the Fall, these were the crown jewels of the Eldar Empire, the first worlds the Eldar colonised as they rose to power. When Slaanesh was born, the Eye of Terror swallowed that whole region of space. The worlds weren’t destroyed. They got warped into something between realspace and the Warp, nightmarish places where daemons and Chaos rule.
They’re named after Morai-Heg, the Crone goddess of fate. The name fits. These worlds are a monument to the worst thing that ever happened to the Aeldari.
Why they still matter
Spirit stones. That’s the main reason anyone goes back. The Asuryani need them to protect their souls from Slaanesh, and the Crone Worlds are the last place you can find them. Journeys there are suicide missions into the most dangerous parts of the galaxy. Plenty of Eldar never come back.
They’re also packed with relics and technology from the old Eldar Empire, which makes them tempting for treasure hunters, Chaos forces, and anyone desperate or crazy enough to try.
- Spirit stones: the only known source for the Asuryani
- Ancient Eldar artefacts and lost technology
- Daemon domains, ruled by the Ruinous Powers and their slaves
- Home to Chaotic Eldar and their ab-strains, trapped since the Fall
Who’s there now
Daemons, mostly. The Crone Worlds are daemon worlds in all but name, domains of the Chaos Gods. Some Eldar survived the Fall there, twisted into Chaos-worshipping wretches. Fabius Bile even set up a base on one after he barely escaped the Salamanders.
Not every Crone World is purely Chaos. A few had well-defended Aeldari populations as late as M31, though whether they were Craftworld colonists or Fall survivors isn’t clear.
Known Crone Worlds
There are quite a few named ones. Some are more famous than others, like Belial IV and Eidafaeron. Vol-Aimoi is an odd case: it got cast out of the Eye of Terror entirely. Yllen Satari sits in the Antian Sector Warp Rift.
| World | Notes |
|---|---|
| Belial IV | A well-known Crone World |
| Eidafaeron | Another named world |
| Vol-Aimoi | Cast out of the Eye of Terror |
| Yllen Satari | Located in the Antian Sector Warp Rift |

FAQ
What are the Crone Worlds?
They’re the original homeworlds of the Eldar Empire, consumed by the Eye of Terror during the Fall. Now they’re daemon-haunted nightmares between realspace and the Warp.
Why do the Eldar go to the Crone Worlds?
Spirit stones. They’re the only source left, and without them the Asuryani can’t protect their souls from Slaanesh. The trips are extremely dangerous.
Are the Crone Worlds the same as daemon worlds?
Mostly, yes. They’re effectively daemon worlds, though a few may have had surviving Eldar populations into M31.
