Forge World Metalica is an Adeptus Mechanicus world in the Charadon Sector, Ultima Segmentum. It’s famous for its endless factories, its defiance of Mars, and its refusal to let anything, not even Orks or Chaos, stop production.
What is Forge World Metalica?
Metalica is a Forge World of the Adeptus Mechanicus, classified as Production Grade IV-Prima and Aptus Non for tithes. It sits in the Obolis Sub-Sector, close to the Ork Empire of Charadon and the Great Rift, making it a vital but dangerously exposed industrial hub.
Its surface is completely covered in factories, ironclad canyons, and subterranean passages. The planet has been scoured of all flora and fauna to meet its endless production quotas, leading to the saying that the entire world is made of metal.

Independence from Mars
Metalica stands apart from Mars both physically and doctrinally. Its ruling Magi have long resisted Martian attempts to impose their rule, and its troops wear only the barest amount of Martian crimson on their heraldry. Instead, their colours are dominated by pure white, symbolising the purity of the machine and the inevitable victory over weak flesh.
History
During the Age of Strife, Metalica used its Titan Legion, Legio Metalica, to fend off some 32 xenos invasions. By the time of the Great Crusade, it had built a small empire of a dozen neighbouring systems. First contact with the Imperium was hostile: the 1159th Expeditionary Fleet attacked Metalica’s outlying holdings, and the Metalican defence fleet crushed them. Only after Tech-Priests intervened did diplomacy succeed, and Metalica joined the Imperium.
Its loyalty was questioned during the Horus Heresy, though the world itself stayed loyal. In 923.M39, the Elucidan Schism devastated the planet, and it has been a centre of Electro-Priests ever since. Metalica has also provided crucial support to Armageddon in all three wars for that world.
More recently, during the Charadon Campaign, Typhus the Traveller targeted Metalica directly. After being driven back, he created a Warp tunnel called The Sore, linking the Chaos-held Alumax System to Metalica, and launched a surprise invasion that overwhelmed the defenders.
The Metalica System
The system contains several key locations beyond the Forge World itself. Corona Militaris is a network of orbital defence platforms. Munis Ferrum is a Hive World, Plenitas a Quarry World, and Ohmex Magnifica a Battery World. Ferrovigilum is a moon-sized asteroid with an Astropathic Relay, dome-sprawls, and industrial canyons. Solari Anchorage is a Star Fort serving as the naval base for Battlefleet Charadon.
