Trazyn’s Collection

Trazyn’s Collection is the private museum of Trazyn the Infinite, a Necron Overlord who preserves the galaxy’s history by stealing it. Instead of conquering worlds, he catalogs them, stashing relics, heroes and entire armies in stasis vaults on his tomb world, Solemnace.

What the collection actually is

It’s less a treasure hoard and more a sprawling archive of the galaxy, built over millions of years. Trazyn keeps artifacts, creatures and people in suspended animation, arranged in themed galleries across Solemnace.

He calls it preservation. To everyone else it’s theft on a cosmic scale, and the exhibits don’t always stay put.

Why it matters

The collection is how Trazyn interferes in the setting without wanting to rule it. He’ll drop into a warzone to snatch a single relic, then vanish, and the fallout can reshape a campaign.

It also gives 40k a walking museum. Lost technologies, extinct species and figures from other eras can reappear because Trazyn filed them away, which makes him a handy in-universe excuse for crossovers and cameos.

  • He’s officially Nihilakh Dynasty but mostly operates alone.
  • Other Necrons tolerate him at best; the Sautekh Dynasty considers him persona non grata.
  • He often sends body doubles, so killing ‘Trazyn’ usually means you’ve killed a Lychguard.

What’s in it

The vaults are famously eclectic. Trazyn has acquired everything from unique weapons and ancient relics to living specimens, and he’s tried more than once to add a Primarch to the display.

His rivalry with the Cryptek Orikan the Diviner runs through a lot of this. They fought over the Tomb of the Overlord Nephreth for nearly ten thousand years before being forced to work together, and Orikan still wants payback.

How it connects to wider lore

Trazyn’s hoard ties into Necron history, the Great Sleep and the politics of the dynasties, since he woke early and used that time to expand it.

It also brushes against anyone who’s ever lost something priceless. If a relic vanishes from your chapter’s vaults, there’s a decent chance it’s sitting in a Solemnace display case, labeled and lit.
